in the world of ultimo intimo, there’s a clear distinction between series and collections.
series are the product of the studio’s lab work — ongoing material and process explorations. they’re how new forms, textures, materials, and methods are developed. this is where the studio’s form language takes shape — the how behind the vision.
collections are the bigger picture — shaped by emotion, reflection, and narrative.
each one explores a complex theme from the realm of the human experience: what it means to be alive, to change, to long, to belong. collections are developed once a year and unveiled in an immersive presentation during dutch design week, where the space itself becomes part of the work.
series are the how.
collections are the why.
